In general, the elevator door exit of household elevators should be flat with the ground after decoration, so as to ensure that the elevator will not be tripped when entering and exiting the elevator. The car bottom plate itself has a certain thickness. The ground is the same, the car floor itself must be lower than the ground after decoration, so it must occupy a certain amount of space below, which means that there is no real home elevator without a pit.
But because most of the decorations require floor tiles or even floor heating to raise the original rough ground, as long as the elevator is installed without floor tiles and floor heating, a 50-100m2 pit will naturally be formed at the elevator installation location. The pit is smaller than the thickness of the floor tiles and floor heating, so there is no need to dig a pit. Therefore, it is called a bottomless pit home elevator, rather than really needing a pit.
In addition to concealing the car floor, the pit must also meet the safety technical requirements of the corresponding home elevator. One is the limit device, but the buffer, which is a very important configuration for the safety of the home elevator.
Home elevators without a pit can be divided into screw elevators and traction gantry elevators. Normally, screw elevators are used in homes. When installing this type of elevator, without disassembling its bottom, it can be installed directly on the surface of the floor tiles, and it will not damage the structure of the house or affect the foundation.
